A is for Anger (as well as Anxiety)
B is for Brand (not to mention Betrayal, the antithesis to Belonging)
C is for Control (and if you’re lucky, Compassion)
D is for Depression, (a dose of Discrimination, and creepily, Doubt)
E is for Employment (and Engagement as well as the occasional Entrepreneur; we pray it is not for Excuses)
F is for Freedom (and hopefully Feedback and Friends with a minimum of Fantasy)
G is for Goals (and the unavoidable Greed and Guilt)
H is for Human Resources (plus Headhunters and the antonymous Hope)
I is for Insecurity (as well as a desired Interview, a pre-requisite Inventory, the essential Identity and the need for Integration)
J is for Jealousy (plus Justice and Joy)
K is for Keeping (and Kindness plus Kites)
L is for Loss (if you avoid Loneliness, it can be followed by Leadership and Laughter)
M is for Making (and with luck, that includes Money and Magic)
N is for Networking (with Noticed and Natural; above all, don’t forget Needs)
O is for Openness (leading to Opportunity)
P is for Persistence (and the opposites of Passion and Paralysis)
Q is for Quiet (shh, and that’s enough)
R is for Résumé (plus the related Responsibility and not so related Religion)
S is for Strength (plus Symbols that summarize You, a healthy dose of Support from loved ones, and hopefully not too much Silence)
T is for Time (and the other personal resource, Talent)
U is to Understand (after which “U” can become Useful)
V is for Vision (and Value)
W is for Wisdom (Waiting and “Whatever” comes next)
X and Y are variables (life would be boring if they were constants)
Z is for Zen (and if that’s not possible, how about Zoloft?)

If a person does not want to lose his or her job, procrastination should be avoided. Making up lame excuses, even if there is the slightest hint of truth in it, will never justify the work undone.
