As your nightmare unfolds the reality that your income, your lifeline is about to disappear forces you to bypass the denial stage of grief. But the other stages starting with anger cannot be as easily avoided or bypassed, no matter how fast you want to get to acceptance (or even better, to Zen). Fear will slow your journey even further. To calm that fear it is useful to know what lies ahead, and that is where the Unemployment Dictionary revealed through this site can help.
This dictionary, a compilation of definitions, evaluation, art, stories and comments are dedicated to the millions each year who are targets of an act we affectionately call tarpooning. Awaiting you on the path of recovery from tarpooning is a gift of growth should you be willing and strong enough to experience and laugh at all of unemployment’s nuances, from A to Z. Stop the journey early (like at E for Employment) without experiencing the rest of the Unemployment Alphabet (like F for Freedom) and later in life you are likely to wish you had kept evolving on this path rather than stopping just because you got a new job
